Recent News:

11.18.08 - The holiday season is coming! My stupid job's store music has already made me well aware of it. On the bright side, some newer music has gotten me excited for the coming weeks!

Hard To Find A Friend is putting out their second holiday charity album to help benefit the Children of Uganda fund. Someone Still Loves You, Boris Yeltsin appears on the album performing "Don't Wrap the Puppy" with Sweetwater Abilene! Friends of SSLYBY, Via Audio, is also one of the many fantastic bands to be a part of this compilation. Just click to image to see who's who. The album is only $7.50 and you get 22 originally crafted songs solely for this cause. So be sure to check this out!

10.23.08 - Jonathan and Phil just released SSLYBY's exclusive superstore on their main site!

Click Here to take a looksee at some shirts and tote bags! Also, Michael Lugar from Vienna shot an acoustic set with Phil and Will while they were touring through Vienna. Check out 'Let's Get Tired' and 'Modern Mystery' over on their site. Stay cool.

10.14.08 - Ah, it's October. No real big news to post. I just wanted to write up an apology for not having the site fixed up by this time. The loss of my webdesigner and the busyness of life has brought upon a massive hit. I'm thinking about kidnapping him when he comes home for winter break and forcing him to help me, so we'll see...
Uncensored Interview posted up some interesting little bits of interview with Will and Phil. There's about 18 clips or so about 30 seconds long each. So watch, learn about Phil's Asbury asskicking, DIY bike gangs, and how to not make friends. And just because Halloween is coming up and I have never carved a pumpkin before, I thought I'd practice with an easy text design:

Also, the boys are back home from Europe and are playing two local shows with Michael Holt and others tomorrow and the next day, more info here.

9.19.08 - Polyvinyl has offocially released the Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin / Puzzle 7" split. The vinyl comes with mp3 codes, so whether you've got a record player or not, you should pick up one here. The record is dapper in blue with a photo of the boys in the middle. Here's the cover:

In other news, Baeble posted up their full concert visit when SSLYBY played at Asbury Lanes in NJ. You can watch the goods here. Unfortunately they cut out the bit where John Rob told the audience how Phil got punched in the face 5 minutes prior to their set. Also, yours truly stars during the end of Oceanographer.

9.5.08 - Friend of the forum, Sarah T. has recently posted a great interview with Phil over on her blog. I've read a lot of their interviews over the years and this was a fun one, so be sure to check it out when you have the chance. I also posted a sneak peak to the new iamwarmandpowerful theme in the forums revised layout.

8.23.08 - Pershing tablature is up for grabs here thanks to our friend, Brian Coney. In other news, I must admit I had a few setbacks this August, causing a lengthy postponement on the site's new makeover. I'm doing my best to get it all up by the end of fall. I'm almost done with all of the artwork and then it'll just be html coding from there. Will Knauer has been emailing me a bunch of his paintings to post up in our upcoming "Art" section. They're a combination of wax on canvas with painted backgrounds. Nifty stuff, be excited!

8.19.08 - Between myspace, facebook, polyvinyl, sslyby.com, daytrotter, etc, I do not constantly have the chance to keep updated 100%. Luckily, there is our forum, which brings most of these news flashes together by different people. Thanks to Sara W. who spotted this video uploaded to SSLYBY's new facebook page. I'm not sure if you need an account to view this video, but if you don't have one, then get one because this song is worth it. It's titled "Same Speed" and I think the boy you'll see in it is Phil's little brother?
Same Speed Video
Sources indicate, this song along with "We Can Win Missouri" will be released on the 7" split with Liverpool based band Puzzle on Polyvinyl records September 8th.

8.10.08 - I forgot to post this with last night's update, but a few weeks ago, I was browsing through my boss' Blender magazines while I was on break. I was curious to see the list for Blender's Top 33 Most Wanted Songs in America. Without fail, I barely listened to anything on this list until I got down to the upper twenties and did a double-take. Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin made both the lists with "The Beach Song" in July and "Modern Mystery" in August. Someone clearly has some friends in Blender. It's always nice seeing them in print so I took some quick snaps before going back to work:

8.9.08 - Time to dust off iamwarmandpowerful and clean this pretty little thing up! Things are going to start picking up a little bit around here now that Nick has so graciously allowed me to nit pick the site. If you do not know me from the forum, my name Is Meghan Baier. Here is a very short video of me at a Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin show to give you some sort of idea to the new webmaster you'll be dealing with:

Yes, the one in the dress. I strolled across iamwarmandpowerful.com when I discovered the band in January, 2007. I've been wanting to play a role on this site since I first saw it. I'm no webdesigner, that's for sure, so kudos to Nick for getting this thing rolling. I am working with my web-knowledgable friend Alex Quinn to give this site a complete makeover. I want to keep it a surprise for everyone, but I will confess that the entire site will be handillustrated. The way we see it is that Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin is a great band, but they are also unique and one-of-a-kind and since most band sites focus on clean-cut graphics and cinematic photos, we opted to go a more illustrated root to fit the band better. Peek back in September to see what it's all about!

Great ideas are brewing, so sit tight! I made some simple fixes around the site for now. Finally hooked up the Pershing lyrics and revised the tour dates. If anyone has any interesting videoes, photos, tabs, etc feel free to shoot me an email anytime.
