7.26.10 - ATTENTION FANS: Two great ways to get a chance to contribute to SSLYBY!

FIRST: Ever listen to your favorite band's new album and be overjoyed with all these questions and curiosities you wish you could ask the musicians of the album? Well now is your chance for "Let it Sway"! Philip Dickey has so kindly agreed to a telephone interview with me in August discussing the anatomy of their newest album. So go get your album (or go order it if you haven't already) and grab a notepad because I want your questions for this completely fan-generated interview! SECOND: Enough about me wanting your time, SSLYBY needs your help even more! Their old van is no more and they need to raise money to get a new one for the upcoming tour. The boys have always been so kind to you at shows (if you waited around after, of course) and have given you some of the greatest music over the last few years. 7.21.10 - As a consequence of my belated updates, I awake this morning to discover preorders have shipped today and the album is up for download while you eager little kiddies wait for the physical product to arrive in the mail. I'm listening to the album as I write this update. It is another absolute gem so far, I hope fans find it just as well. For those of you who did not preorder it, shame on you and get your butt over to Polyvinyl and place an order. You NEED this, trust me.

7.21.10 - I know, I know, my news is always behind the forum and Melissa's wonderful Modern Mystery blog. I just got notified I'm losing my dumb job and I'm filling my sad voidness with the wonderful melodies of SSLYBY. More importantly, enjoying the newest song released in full from Let It Sway titled 'Banned (By the Man)' The beat seems to stand true to SSLYBY's catchy nature, but definitely expresses an inherent growth of the boys' music over the past three albums. Check out the song over at Modern Mystery I hope the avid listeners of Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin are as excited for August as I am!

5.21.10 - THE NEW ALBUM IS FINALLY UP FOR PRESALE. Die hard fans and new fans are in for a treat this August. Let It Sway is available for preorder (album is released August 17th)! The preorder comes with some neat stuff shown below and a free mp3 of the Sink/Let It Sway song is available through Polyvinyl. 4.15.10 - Word on the street is the new SSLYBY record will be open to the public in August. Unfortunately for me and probably you we were not the lucky ones who got the first listen. Polyvinyl gives us a little tease report and censored photo of what is to come.

9.1.09 - *RECORD NEWS* Rumors of the new Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin record has been whispered about, but at long last, word of it has been spoken to me directly from their management. The boys will be heading into the studio next week to begin recording! For the first time, this magical recording with take place in an actual studio under the direction of a producer. Oh, did I mention this two week recording session will be occuring in Madison, WI with Chris Walla *cough* Death Cab For Cutie *cough* acting as their producer?

Mixing will be scheduled later in the fall in Walla's Portland studio. The record will be released under Polyvinyl Records. I'm sure most of you are scanning this looking for the official release date. My apologies, a date hasn't been defined just yet, but right now we are looking at the first half of 2010. So, by the time your excitement from this post simmers down, hopefully we can give you a date to mark your calendars for. Until then, tune in next time!

7.10.09 - I was very pleased to log onto my twitter today and discover SSLYBY finally released "Cardinal Rules" a tribute song for the Springfield Cardinals minor league baseball team. It's a great addition to your music collection so why don't you scurry on over to The Catbirdseat and treat yourself to a free download? I saw this song played live in Springfield back in March; first time I witnessed John Robert handle drums for a SSLYBY tune.

5.12.09 - During my spring break trip to Springfield, MO; Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin's homefront, I was lucky enough to be welcomed into Will's art gallery. I catalogued a ton of pieces with my camera and finally seized the chance to post them here on the site now that school is out for the summer. You can view his most recent work over on the 2nd page of the band art part of the site here. Enjoy!

3.1.09 - SSLYBY's upcoming third album news is abuzz, but keep yourself seated, we all have a bit of waiting to do. To pass the long months ahead, you can always stay up-to-date on the news and rumors at the forum!

Also, the Boris kids are up as nominees for the Springfield GO Awards. Head over to this link and give them and their album the support it so well deserves.

2.11.09 - Long time, no talk, not much to say. I updated SSLYBY's tour dates for April as they cruise the roads with Drew Danburry for a few shows. So see if they're coming near you or if you should go find them here.

1.10.09 - Hey guys, so this is the new layout up and running at long last. I hope everyone likes it. I've been really into the idea of outerspace underwater. Tape Club is now public and better organized. There's also a section on the site where you can send any sslyby related art whether you've got your own personal handcrafted tote bag or an awesome illustration you want to share, I'd be more than happy to add it to the site so I'm not the only one hogging up that section.

Also, Will sent me a ton of paintings he did, they're really awesome and sync well with the site's theme! Check it out here.
